Doctoral Programs
DOCTORAL PROGRAM
Doctor of Philosophy Degree ( PhD)
Prerequisite to enroll: The applicant must have earned a Master’s Degree in Divinity, Theology, or Biblical Studies.
Candidates will specialize in Biblical research related to a given topic.
Study for the PhD extends through three stages:
- Coursework: 6 credit hours
- Knowledge Area Modules (KAM): 6 credit hours of Seminar
- Dissertation: 24 credit hours (related to Biblical research)
1 | THD890 – Introduction to Theological Research This course will provide students with the tools for doctoral level research and opportunities for reflection on becoming scholar-pastor. Students are introduced to the conduct and reporting of scholarly theological research. |

Doctor of Theology Degree (ThD)
Prerequisite to enroll: The applicant must have earned a Master’s Degree in Divinity, Theology, or Biblical Studies.
Candidates will specialize in one of the fields of theological scholarship, such as: Hebrew Bible/Old Testament; New Testament and Early Christian Studies; History of Christianity; Systematic Theology; Ethics; Church Growth and Mission Studies.
Study for the ThD extends through three stages:
- Coursework: 6 credit hours
- Knowledge Area Modules (KAM): 6 credit hours of Seminar
- Dissertation: 24 credit hours (related to Theological fields)
